We help clients to process trauma and grief, develop coping skills, and identify and regulate emotions using evidence-based practices.
Training for athletes (youth and adult), performers, and executives utilizes the integration of mental performance skills and biofeedback to increase mental stamina, focus, agility, and resilience to enhance performance.
The clinicians at Mind+Body=ONE offer individual and family psychotherapy; art therapy; play therapy; movement therapy; biofeedback, and mindfulness interventions to children, adolescents, and adults.
Mental performance is the development of mental skills, attitudes, and strategies to improve performance, well-being, and personal growth.
We can assist athletes, executives and performers improve:
Biofeedback is a non-invasive process of using electronic monitoring to help one gain voluntary awareness and self-regulation of their physiology to improve health and performance. Biofeedback helps to promote the mind-body connection by measuring heart rate, breath rate, muscle tension, temperature, skin conductance, and heart rate variability.
Movement as Medicine
Using body-centered practices like mindful movement, breathwork, and yoga can help individuals access and release stored emotions and trauma held within the body.
Alignment practices improve posture and mobility as well as reduce stress and pain.
Creativity is inherent in all of us.
Art therapy allows for the non-verbal expression of thoughts and feelings through the process and product of art making.
Art therapy provides numerous benefits, including: reduced stress and anxiety, improved mood and self-esteem, enhanced communication and interpersonal skills, increased resilience and coping abilities, and fostering creativity and self-expression.
Play is a natural way for children to explore their world and express emotion.
Play therapy helps children to express their emotions, process experiences, and develop coping mechanisms, particularly when they might struggle to articulate their issues verbally.
Play therapy helps with anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, family conflicts, and developmental delays.
Evidence-based therapies are supported by scientific evidence and have been shown to be effective in research studies.
We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Biofeedback, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

The services provided to my child have been remarkable. My child is slowly gaining self esteem and focusing on their life choices in ways I have never seen before. I am particularly pleased with how effective therapy has been for my child in a short time period (5-6 months).
Christina is super knowledgeable in her mind body approach which has helped me with my chronic pain issues. She always adjusts to the needs that I have while helping me see patterns and the big picture, allowing me to reflect. She is comforting, compassionate, and relatable. After many therapy attempts I feel like she really gets it and takes things to the next level with all of her skills.
Christina has an impressive understanding of what makes us think and feel the way we do. She has incredible insight and is able to help me make connections in ways I hadn’t considered. She is very supportive and validating, and I greatly appreciate her calm, direct and playful way of guiding me.

Christina has been an amazing asset to my daughter and our family. She has helped to teach anxiety coping mechanisms to my now 11 year when she was going through the toughest of times. Christina is kind, patient and knowledgeable. She is flexible and understanding as well as generous with both her time and knowledge. I don’t think we could have made it through the last few years without her.
I have been a client of Christina for many years now, and I am extremely satisfied with the services that she provides. Christina is highly intelligent, kind, empathetic, reliable, and professional. I truly could not think of a better therapist.
I met Christina first as a professor, and then sought her out as a clinical supervisor once I started my own practice. She is an incredible clinician, professor and supervisor, as she combines her deep knowledge and expertise with warmth, grace & insight. I’m lucky to have been able to learn from her, and would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone seeking a therapist!
Dr. Christina Grosso has been an incredible asset to our team this season, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Her mental performance sessions have had a profound impact on our players, helping them grow not only as athletes but as individuals. She is thoughtful, patient, and extremely knowledgeable, and she has a unique ability to connect with the kids in a way that makes them excited to learn.
Every session is engaging, fun, and filled with valuable lessons that the players can immediately apply to both hockey and life. From building confidence and handling adversity to being a great teammate and pushing yourself to improve, Dr. Grosso has covered it all. The best part? The kids actually retain what they learn and are eager to share how they’ve applied it.
Her work has been instrumental in our team’s development, and as the season has progressed, we’ve seen tangible improvements in both our performance and our overall team dynamic. I truly believe our success this year has been, in large part, thanks to her guidance. If you’re looking for someone to help athletes develop a strong mental game and grow into better competitors and teammates, Dr. Grosso is the best there is.

Mind-body medicine is a collection of practices that use the mind and body to promote health. It uses techniques like meditation, breathing, and yoga to reduce stress and improve well-being.
Mind-body medicine activates the relaxation response to reduce stress and improve overall well-being.
Biofeedback can help treat many physical and mental health conditions, including:
Biofeedback is a non-invasive process of using electronic monitoring to help you gain voluntary awareness and self-regulation of your physiology to improve health and performance. During the process of biofeedback, I will place sensors on your hands (or jaw, shoulder or back) and a nylon belt around your waist. These sensors sit comfortably on the surface of your skin and the belt rests snuggly over your clothes. The sensors are connected to a biofeedback system on my laptop that measures heart rate variability, muscle tension, respiration rate, peripheral temperature, and skin conductance. We will try different feedback programs, such as graph training, virtual environments, and games that will help you gain awareness and control of your physiology. We will use this visual feedback to assist you in learning self-management skills and over time you will learn how to sustain practice without the biofeedback system.
A typical biofeedback session is 60 minutes. Based on your presenting symptoms and physiological assessment I will recommend a certain number of sessions.
Based on your presenting symptoms, biofeedback can assist in regulating various physiological responses. Overall, we are working toward creating a relaxation response and decreasing overall stress and tension. As we move toward a more relaxed state, we will see your heart rate lower, your skin temperature in your hands and feet rise, your skin conductance or sweat decrease, your muscles relax, and your breathing become fuller, deeper, smoother, and slower.
Yes, we offer a gratis 15-minute consult to briefly discuss presenting issues and reasons for therapy. We will offer recommendations for services and answer questions. You can contact us using the link below to arrange your gratis consult.
If we decide together that we are a good fit then an intake session will be scheduled.
Please contact us to schedule your 15-minute gratis consult to see if we may be a good fit for you. We are happy to assist with your questions.
